I work mainly in Acrylic colour on canvas or paper, and frequently use multiple layers built up over quite long periods. I find texture important and often use other materials, such as paper, sand, cardboard and plaster laid over the base to provide this.

I believe that painting, like architecture must work on 3 levels

• From a distance
• Functionally
• Close up
  
  

In terms of painting, its functionality is to provide an object which can be lived with over time and which promote a feeling of calm in our otherwise frenetic world.

I currently am based part of the time in Marlow, UK and part of the time in Anduze, France. I would be pleased to welcome you in either location to visit the studio and have a glass of wine. Otherwise, I use DHL to deliver in the UK.
